what's going on YouTube gs right here
0:02
You may or may not know it but shutting
0:04
down your device from time to time is
0:06
one of the most important things you can
0:07
do on your iPhone to preserve your
0:09
devices performance and of course your
0:11
security I'm going to start with the
0:13
security angle Now as you probably are
0:15
aware we are living in the era of AI You
0:18
can find vulnerabilities easier than
0:20
ever You can just run a tool and it will
0:22
spew out a couple of vulnerable
0:24
endpoints or vulnerable applications and
0:26
so on It's not a surprise that Apple
0:28
sends spyware warnings to iPhone users
0:31
in 100 countries This made headlines
0:33
just two days ago Now spyware on iOS has
0:36
always been a thing And for those of you
0:38
who are not aware there is one thing
0:40
called the Pegasus spyware which was
0:42
incredibly powerful a few years back
0:45
This one actually required zero clicks
0:47
You didn't have to do anything in order
0:49
to get infected You wouldn't even know
0:50
that your device is infected And there
0:53
is one common theme around all these
0:56
spyware things malware viruses and so on
0:58
On iOS your device has to stay on The
1:01
second you turn off the device and you
1:03
turn it back on the spyware the attacker
1:06
the hacker whatever you want to call it
1:07
would have to infect your device all
1:09
over again in order to run again the
1:11
spyware So shutting down the device has
1:13
the effect that it clears out the memory
1:16
which means that any spyware or security
1:18
vulnerabilities or anything would also
1:20
be cleared out from the memory So if you
1:22
leave your device on for example for
1:24
weeks if it gets infected that spyware
1:27
stays active pretty much forever because
1:29
you never turn off your device So the
1:31
memory never gets cleared So my
1:32
recommendation is to essentially go
1:34
ahead and just turn off your device from
1:36
time to time Once a week would be great
1:38
Um there is also a performance advantage
1:40
on this For example each settings in
1:43
here are actually controlled by various
1:44
diamonds programs that you never see
1:46
running in the background You just see
1:48
the Wi-Fi settings but you never see the
1:50
actual Wi-Fi diamond that runs in the
1:52
background trying to connect to the
1:54
networks maintaining connection with the
1:55
router and exchanging IP addresses
1:57
whatever Those are far deep inside the
2:00
operating system And in order to be able
2:02
to run properly those programs are
2:04
better off not staying active forever As
2:07
the memory is never cleared every issue
2:10
that arises is actually adding up By
2:12
rebooting the device you're clearing
2:14
that memory giving those programs a
2:16
chance to start again from scratch which
2:18
essentially allows them to run again
2:20
freshly and clear any errors that might
2:22
have occurred So yes this is why you
2:24
should most definitely go ahead and
2:26
reboot your phone or shut down your
2:28
phone at least once a week Speaking of
2:30
exploits if you want to check out the
2:31
latest iOS jailbreak tools you can go

website and I do have here lots of
2:37
guides on iOS related stuff But if you
2:39
want to learn about iOS security and how

you should protect yourself and how to
