Sileo is nowadays the de facto package manager for iOS jailbreaks after Cydia became completely obsolete by iOS 15. It’s one of the most popular package managers used in dozens of jailbreak tools such as Dopamine, PaleRa1n, Taurine, etc.
The Sileo used in RootHide Jailbreak, RootHide Bootstrap, as well as Serotonin Jailbreak, is, however, not the same Sileo used in rootless jailbreaks like Dopamine.
What is Sileo for RootHide?
While the code base of Sileo for RootHide is very similar to the official one, RootHide uses a different architecture (arm64e) compared to rootless jailbreaks like Dopamine and PaleRa1n which use arm64.
The upshot is that Sileo has to be re-compiled by the RootHide developer and as such an unofficial build is born.
However, just because it shares a significant portion of the official code, doesn’t mean that RootHide’s package manager is just an architecture recompile. RootHideDev has spent months working on this and fixing various issues and bugs.
As you can imagine, RootHide Jailbreak, RootHide Bootstrap, and Serotonin are not standard jailbreak utilities, so many changes had to be made.
The result is impressive. A working unofficial build of Sileo Package Manager that even sports faster repo loading, a more responsive UI, and many other fixes.
This fork is free and completely open-source on GitHub. Combining RootHide Bootstrap which includes Procursus Bootstrap and the package manager with Serotonin is the closest we can get to a proper iOS 17.0 jailbreak on A12+ devices as of today.

What is the latest Sileo for RootHide update?
The latest version of the package manager for RootHide was pushed on January 8th, 2025 and it includes the following changelog:
- Version 2.5.1-7 fixes all known issues.
Final thoughts
The RootHide Jailbreak project, as well as the RootHide Bootstrap, and Serotonin, are important tools these days when traditional jailbreak tools are harder and harder to create.
Apple has certainly stepped up their security game and over the past two years jailbreaking iOS has become quite difficult. It’s thanks to tools like RootHide that the community still survives and adapts to these new trends. As always, you can find the latest available tools on our Jailbreak Tools page.
