Tweak Full Description
NOT COMPATIBLE WITH BOOTSTRAP / SEROTONIN / ROOTHIDE
Vidnerix allows you to download videos from websites in Safari app. To download a video, play the video in full screen in the native video player and tap the Vidnerix download button.
Features:
- Download both mp4 and m3u8 videos
- Automatically transcodes m3u8 videos into mp4
- Background downloading
- Notifications when download completes or fails
- Option to save videos to Files or Photos app
- Ability to copy direct video url
Vidnerix does not support downloading DRM encrypted videos from content providers such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, etc.. Downloading live video streams is not supported. The tweak only works in main Safari app, it will not load in ‘in-app Safari’ in other apps.
Note that the tweak downloads the currently playing video resolution. If the video you are streaming has multiple resolutions provided by the host, make sure to select the desired resolution on the website before playback and then start the download.
Videos in m3u8 format are split into hundreds of segments and hence it is not possible to determine the exact total video size without downloading them all. In this case, the download size displayed will only be an approximation and might differ from the final video size which will be produced from converting all the individual downloaded segments from the m3u8 playlist file into a single mp4.
To ensure that the download continue in the background, do not manually kill Safari app. Simply switch to other apps and the downloads will continue. If Safari is forced killed by user interaction, all downloads will be stopped.
If you encounter failure downloading a specific video, please let me know via Twitter or mail. In case you would like to know if Vidnerix can successfully download video from a certain website before purchase, feel free to send me the link and i’ll test it.
