How to install TrollStore 2 on iOS 15.5 - 16.6.1 / iOS 17.0

TrollStore 2 was unexpectedly released today by developer @opa334. This update is only possible thanks to a CoreTrust bug similar to the first one used in TrollStore 1 on iOS 15.0 – 15.4.1.

Apple’s mistake has led to a new era of TrollStore which allows you to install any application IPA permanently without having to worry about re-signing every 7 days, Apple revokes, certificates or Sideloading tools.

In short, with TrollStore you can install any app from anywhere permanently like on Android. It never expires, never requires re-signing, and cannot be revoked or made unavailable by Apple. Perfect.

What devices are supported by TrollStore 2?

TrollStore 2 supports all devices on iOS 15.0 – 16.6.1 and iOS 17.0, regardless if they are A12+ or not.

However, to install TrollStore 2 you need a separate installation method which may or may not exist for your iOS/device combo. Please check below to ensure it can be installed on your device:

iOS 15.0 – 15.x on all devices

  • TrollStore 2 is compatible with your device.
  • You can install TrollStore 2 using Misaka (MDC) [Works on A12+ too]
  • PaleRa1n Jailbreak is also an option on A11 and lower devices.

iOS 16.0 – 16.1.2 on all devices

  • TrollStore 2 is compatible with your device.
  • You can install TrollStore 2 using Misaka (MDC) [Works on A12+ too]
  • PaleRa1n Jailbreak is also an option on A11 and lower devices.

iOS 16.2 – 16.5 and iOS 16.6 Beta 1 on all devices

  • TrollStore 2 is compatible with your device.
  • PaleRa1n Jailbreak is also an option on A11 and lower devices.

iOS 16.5.1 – 16.6.1 and iOS 17.0 on all devices

  • TrollStore 2 is compatible with your device.
  • For A12+ devices there is no installation method available (a kernel exploit is needed). Please wait where you are.
  • PaleRa1n Jailbreak is an option on A11 and lower devices.

iOS 16.7 – 16.7.2 and iOS 17.0.1+ on all devices

  • TrollStore 2 is NOT compatible with your device. The CoreTrust bug was fixed by Apple.
  • If you’re on iOS 16.7 – 16.7.2 you can DelayOTA upgrade to iOS 17.0. This will work until December 20th. You cannot downgrade using this method, so going from iOS 17.0.1 or newer back to iOS 17.0 is not possible.

How to install TrollStore 2 using Misaka Package Manager (MDC)?

If you have a compatible device running Misaka on iOS 15.5 – iOS 16.5 / 16.6 Beta 1, here’s how you can use Misaka Package Manager to install TrollStore 2 on your device.

Please follow the guide carefully. Misaka support for installing TrollStore 2 is currently a bit unstable and may reboot your device a few times before it works properly, especially on KFD (iOS 16.2+).

The guide below applies to MDC devices (iOS 15.0 – 16.1.2). A KFD guide is also coming soon for iOS 16.2+.

For iOS 15.0 – 16.1.2 users:

Prerequisites

To complete this installation, you will need the following things:

1. Install Misaka Package Manager (Windows / Mac)

  1. Open Sideloadly and drag and drop the Misaka IPA file into the .IPA file holder.
  2. Connect your phone using a USB cable and make sure it’s unlocked and the PC is trusted.
  3. Type your Apple ID into the Apple ID box in Sideloadly.
  4. Press Start.
  5. If you’re asked for your Apple ID password, type it in the box that appears.
  6. Once Sideloadly says “Done” the app should be available on the home screen.

The app is now installed but you cannot open it just yet. Follow the steps below to trust it.

  2. Open Settings -> General -> Device Management -> Your e-mail and tap Trust (email).
  3. Go back to the home screen.

Installing TrollStore Helper

  1. Open Misaka. If it asks about using the KFD exploit, decline. You will use MDC.
  2. Inside Misaka, tap the Settings gear icon on the top left, and under the EXPLOIT settings use MDC.
  3. Close and re-open the Misaka app.
  4. Navigate to the Packages tab in Misaka.
  5. Tap the Import button and load the Misaka TrollStore 2 file you downloaded in the Prerequisites section.
  6. A long string of characters should appear. Tap it so that a checkmark appears on top of it.
  7. Tap the Magic Wand button (the second on the top right corner) and press Restart. This will respring your device.
  8. After the respring is complete and you are back on the lockscreen, reboot the device.
