TrollInstallerX is a brand-new TrollStore installer application developed by @alfiecg24 and it is the fastest and most reliable method to install TrollStore in 2024.

Before TrollInstallerX, you had to use various apps like TrollMisaka, TrollStar, Misaka, or Picasso to install TrollStore depending on your iOS version.

Update July 2024: A new iOS 17.0 (final version) installation method was achieved and will be released soon for all devices. Do not update!

TrollInstallerX supports all iOS versions supported by TrollStore so you no longer need to search for an installer compatible with your device or iOS version. This is an all-in-one solution.

Why is TrollInstallerX the best TrollStore installer?

This application has been in development for quite a while and it’s very well polished. It’s free and completely open-source on GitHub, and it supports all iOS devices (both arm64 and arm64e) on all iOS versions compatible with TrollStore.

TrollInstallerX is also much more reliable and easy to use because you don’t have to mess with custom keyboards like you did on TrollMisaka. You can easily install both TrollStore and TrollStore Helper using this app.

How to install TrollInstallerX?

It’s straightforward to install and use TrollInstallerX. All you have to do is to sideload the IPA from GitHub using your favorite method (Sideloadly, AltStore, etc.) and open the app on your device.

Follow the steps below to sideload and install TrollInstallerX on your device:

1. Download the latest IPA file from the official GitHub.
2. Connect your iOS device to the computer using a USB cable.
3. Make sure the device is unlocked and the computer is trusted.
4. Using either Sideloadly or AltStore, sideload the IPA file.
5. On your device, make sure the Apple ID is verified in Settings so that you can open the app.
6. Open the TrollInstallerX app and press Install TrollStore.
7. Choose a system app to be replaced by Persistence Helper (Tips, Books, Measure, Compass, etc.)
8. That’s it.

Can TrollInstallX install TrollStore on iOS 17?

It depends. In version 1.0.1 released on April 6th, the changelog includes a change claiming “Add (untested) support for early iOS 17.0 betas”. So it’s likely that iOS 17.0 early betas will soon be able to use TrollInstallerX to install TrollStore.

For newer betas or the final version (RC) of iOS 17.0, it’s not possible to install TrollStore currently, not even with TrollInstallerX.

While TrollStore 2 does support iOS 17.0 because the CoreTrust bypass bug is still present on this version, there is no installation method available. We would essentially need a new kernel exploit for iOS 17.0, just like KFD and MacDirtyCow (MDC) are for iOS 16.x and lower.

TrollInstallerX also uses libgrabkernel2, a new iOS library that allows for downloading almost any kernelcache for the devices supported by TrollInstallerX, making the installation much easier and more reliable.

On the README page of the TrollInstallerX, the developer did say that once such an exploit is released they will update TrollInstallerX to support installing TrollStore on iOS 17.0.

Do keep in mind that any iOS version newer than iOS 17.0 patches the CoreTrust bug used in TrollStore, so even if we get a kernel exploit for say iOS 17.1 in the future, the maximum iOS 17 version supported by TrollStore will remain iOS 17.0.

What is TrollStore?

TrollStore is an application that utilizes several techniques including a CoreTrust bypass to enable users to install applications on iOS without having to sign them and without worrying about apps expiring in 7 days.

Applications installed with TrollStore last forever until you delete them. No revokes, no blacklist, and no Apple ID needed.

Additionally, TrollStore allows apps to have several entitlements (permissions) that wouldn’t normally be obtainable using traditional sideloading (AltStore, Sideloadly, etc), such as sandbox escaping, root access, etc.

This is why TrollStore allows apps such as TrollRecorder (an iOS call recorder) to exist without a jailbreak on the device.
