Siri has been part of iOS since the iPhone 4S, and it used to be one of the cool features that iPhones had back in the day.
Unfortunately, Siri has become pretty dumb lately. Ever since iOS 15, many users, myself included, have noticed Siri’s responses started to be less and less reliable.
Now on iOS 17 for me, Siri tends to reply with “Here’s what I found on the web” quite often instead of trying to answer the question. Things it used to answer just fine on iOS 14, and older.
If you’re also fed up with Siri’s useless responses that have you browsing the web anyway, a new tweak called SiriPlus available on the Havoc repo may be just what you need.
What is SiriPlus?
It’s now clear that 2023 was the year of AI. We’ve seen so much development and public awareness related to Artificial Intelligence in 2023 that using tools like ChatGPT, Dall-E or Gemini is quite popular nowadays.
AI has changed how we search for information and with it we’ve also changed how we work. It’s 2024 and you can’t walk 2 feet without some AI feature being shoved in your face.
Still, AI has opened the gates for some amazing opportunities. You can now have the answer to your question in a matter of seconds, well detailed, without having to browse dozens of websites.
SiriPlus developed by @_Uckermark aims to replace Siri’s (mostly useless or outdated) responses with actual AI responses from ChatGPT or Google Gemini.
Using SiriPlus you can specify your API keys as well if you want to benefit from faster response times or more advanced LLMs.
Once installed, SiriPlus makes Siri actually send your question to either ChatGPT or Gemini and you will get an AI response back, kinda like using the official ChatGPT application on iOS.
The best part about SiriPlus is that it actually supports “Hey Siri”, you are getting the AI responses in the same UI where Siri would give its own responses, and you can even have the AI open applications, make calendar notes, draft e-mails, and access reminders.
Aside from these features, SiriPlus can also:
- Initiate phone calls.
- Add calendar entries.
- Access Contacts list.
- Show system information.
- Open maps and pick a destination.
What iOS versions are supported by the SiriPlus tweak?
You can install the SiriPlus tweak from Havoc Repo ($4.99) on any jailbroken device running iOS 14.0 up to iOS 16.7.x.
The tweak does support the latest Dopamine 2 Jailbreak released by developer @opa334, and you can even get it to work with PaleRa1n Jailbreak.
I haven’t tested the tweak, but there are reports that it may also work on iPadOS 17.0 – 17.4 using PaleRa1n jailbreak on compatible iPads.
