Taurine Jailbreak developed by Coolstar and the Odyssey Team has recently been updated to support iOS 14.0 all the way up to iOS 14.8.1 thanks to the KFD kernel exploit.
For a long time, Taurine Jailbreak was stuck without support for iOS 14.7, iOS 14.8.1, etc. because no kernel exploit was available.
With the release of the KFD exploit which is compatible with iOS 14.0 up to iOS 16.5, many tools have been created from scratch or updated.
Even though Taurine Jailbreak hasn’t been updated for over a year, the Odyssey team behind it decided to release a new update to finally create an iOS 14.8.1 jailbreak that did not previously exist.
Should I use Taurine Jailbreak or Unc0ver?
I would definitely recommend you use Taurine Jailbreak at this point. Unlike Taurine, Unc0ver Jailbreak was not updated to use the KFD exploit.
Unc0ver Jailbreak is still stuck with support only up to iOS 14.6 which is also only partially supported on some devices. Unc0ver also uses the less efficient Substitute for tweak injection and comes with the now-defunct Cydia as a package manager. Unc0ver hasn’t been updated in any way in over 2 years.
On the other hand, Taurine Jailbreak keeps receiving updates quite regularly, comes with Sileo Package Manager which is much faster and modern, comes with the Procursus Bootstrap which is a marvel of engineering, and uses libhooker for tweak injection.
Not to mention that it supports the whole iOS 14 range now, from iOS 14.0 to iOS 14.8.1 on ALL devices.
The verdict: Definitely use Taurine instead of Unc0ver. Unc0ver is very much considered end-of-life and the Unc0ver developer, @Pwn20wnd hasn’t been around in over 2 years.
